Fremont, California, March 5, 2012 — Optoplex launched a new product called “super” interleaver for demanding 100Gbps and super-channel applications. The “super” interleaver, based on Optoplex’s proprietary technology, offers much wider pass-band width and squared-like spectral profile, and therefore much better performance for 100Gbps transmission.
Optoplex has been working closely with a couple of Tier-1 telecom equipment manufacturers on the “super” interleaver in the past 10 months. With the “super” interleaver, performance such as insertion loss (and therefore reach), cross-talk, and OSNR can be improved, particularly in high speed transmission such as 100Gbps and beyond.

Moreover, the “super” interleaver can be designed in a co-packaged solution in which a mux and a demux interleaver sharing same design platform and some common parts, offers many benefits, such as smaller form factor and lower cost.
